FOUR takes viewers on a global journey, exploring the ancient teachings that illuminate the spiritual path and guide us through each stage, providing insights on how to navigate, achieve inner balance, and foster harmony in the world. This documentary reveals the striking consistency across diverse traditions—whether drawing from the wisdom of Yogis, Buddhists, Hindus, Incas, Mayans, Native Americans, or other ancestral cultures. It is a call for all of us to awaken and embark on this inner journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.

In many regions worldwide, oral teachings were lost and sacred sites destroyed. Knowledge that had been carried for millennia began disappearing — fragment by fragment — through war, colonization, and forced assimilation.

Conquest of the Americas & Collapse of Andean and Mesoamerican Traditions
The fall of the Inca and Aztec civilizations resulted in the destruction of temples, suppression of ceremonial traditions, and the loss of countless knowledge keepers. This period marks one of the largest disruptions of Indigenous wisdom in human history.

Global Colonization & Forced Religious Conversion
Colonial systems across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania dismantled ancestral belief systems, banned ceremonies, and replaced Indigenous cosmologies with Western religious and political structures. Entire spiritual lineages were pushed underground.

Anthropologists, seekers, and Indigenous leaders begin to revive forgotten traditions. Ancient texts are translated, ceremonies quietly return, and global curiosity awakens toward meditation, nature-based wisdom, and ancestral knowledge.

Indigenous elders, knowledge keepers, yogis, and spiritual teachers around the world are reclaiming and sharing their traditions. Lost teachings re-emerge through documentaries, books, scientific research, and global dialogue.
This marks a new era where humanity begins remembering — and once again honoring — the wisdom of its ancestral past.
FIND
Within the FIND stage of the spiritual journey, we are on a quest to find deeper understanding of the
suffering in our life, searching to become who we truly are, looking beyond the veil of cultural narratives, and living a life with deeper purpose. To find these answers we look toward a spiritual path that may provide us direction to these answers, rather than the programs given to us by cultural narratives.Â
ORGANIZE
Once we find a path that resonates, whether that be Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity or any other spiritual practice, we begin to cleanse ourselves through incorporating the teachings and practices into our lives. Removing old habits that do not serve us, looking deeply into our own past, serving others for the sake of giving and not receiving in return, and reading and meditating into the teachings of spiritual leaders. Through this transformation, we give rise to the next stage in the spiritual journey, UNDERSTAND.
UNDERSTAND
After our personal cleanse within the ORGANIZE stage, we begin to UNDERSTAND more deeply who we are. We recognize the oneness that exists in this universe, we see that many of our desires and sufferings are allusions, our understanding of love becomes more clear, and our understanding of suffering in the world begins to reveal itself. Through these deeper understandings we become better connected with the world, and ourselves. This gives rise to the next stage in the spiritual journey, to RETURN.

RETURN
At this point in the spiritual journey, our faith is tested. We seek to give to the world in a more balanced way. We ask that question, how do I serve this world in a balanced way with the skills I was gifted. We must surrender to the higher intelligence we have become connected to and allow ourselves to be guided. Without ego, without our own desires, and allow the higher source to put the opportunities in our lives that will allow us to bring our world to a state of harmony. We realize that through this we are fulfilling the mission of our true self, the soul.Â

This film was created through a collaborative partnership between Monoscape Travel Within (Adam Donatelli) and Inti Muju (Antaurko Patsakamaq). Guided by a shared mission, our collaboration seeks to illuminate the ancestral wisdom carried by Indigenous cultures and present it in a way that invites viewers into a deeper understanding of the spiritual journey. By combining cinematic storytelling with the teachings and lived knowledge of the communities featured, we aim to help people reconnect with ancient truths, cultivate inner balance, and remember the universal spiritual path that unites humanity across traditions.
